Lawrence Lebo
Originally from California, now living in NE Ohio, critically acclaimed, award winning and Internationally recognized recording artist Lawrence Lebo has been writing and performing her inimitable style of sophisticated Blues and American Roots music now for several decades. Named “Best Blues Singer” by the LA Weekly Best of LA issue Ms. Lebo racked up several awards for her 2018 sixth album release Old School Girl including two Global Music awards, an LA Critics award and a Hollywood Music in Media nomination, as well as glowing reviews from such magazines as DownBeat, American Blues Scene, Blues In Britain, and Blues Blast Magazine to name a few. Lebo’s recording career began with a bang! Her 1990 debut EP “Lawrence Lebo and Her Little Big Band: Don’t Call her Larry” was featured on NPR’s WEEKEND EDITION Show. She was a comfortable performer who worked her audience well, often at times offering humorous as well as educational explanations for her choices. She had style, spunk and charisma! Lawrence has been enjoying playing the ukelele on stage lately. She is comfortable performing as small as a duo, up to a 6-piece band, as the job requires.
